Wedding Venue
An elegant editorial wedding at Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Maggie and Allen got married at one of the most beautiful venues in downtown Brooklyn: The Brooklyn Botanical Garden. The elegant couple got ready at The Ace Hotel Brooklyn, which had a fun, colorful, energetic vibe in its guestrooms. After having their getting-ready photos at the hotel, they headed over to the Cherry Esplanade for an intimate first look. Then they had a short bride and groom editorial portrait session on the romantic grounds of BBG. Finally, they had their ceremony in Magnolia Plaza, then a dinner reception and dancing in The Palm House.
Wedding Colors & Vibe
The colors of the wedding are neutral tones in ivory, buttercream, blush, and soft peach. Maggie’s ceremony dress was Ines Di Santo with custom heels from Maison Sofia Grace from Korea. Her second dress (a total surprise for the groom) was Toni Maticevski and shoes by Badgley Mischka.
The wedding had an elegant, modern, and inviting vibe, with a touch of whimsical charm. An essential part of the day was articulating wedding vows to each other in front of their loved ones.
“We want our guests to feel the event is intimate, romantic, and special. To note, the decision to have this wedding now and at this particular venue location has much to do with our grandparents. Allen’s grandfather and my grandmother are both 90, and we want to make this a memorable occasion for them.”
-Maggie, the Bride
Maggie and Allen were looking for a photographer to capture this extraordinary wedding many years in the making. The couple wanted the “wow factor” but still wanted it to feel like their couple’s vibe. Maggie isn’t a cookie-cutter bride and wanted timeless, editorial, intimate, and soft wedding photographs. Indeed, she made the right choice by having an elegant editorial wedding at Brooklyn Botanical Garden. They wanted to look their absolute best even though they weren’t professional models. I’m so thrilled we were able to document this couple’s dream wedding!
